Held during the summer, Girls' and Boys' States each give an opportunity to about 360 students from around Oregon to set up a mock government including election of a governor, senators, and representatives.

Juniors interested must apply through Counseling. The LHS representatives are selected based on the following criteria: honesty, character, cooperativeness, community service and participation, scholarship, and leadership.
