Artist Statement

Over the last few years, I have developed a distinct style of art that is noticeable in my work. I am drawn to bright colors and contrasting color schemes, and I favor acrylic paints and oil pastels. However, I am most drawn to people. I love the way the human face and body can be portrayed in so many different styles while representing the human form.

My concentration is portraits, focusing on the use of color. In my concentration I utilize the use of color scheme, color patterns, and placement of color. Through the use of color, I am showing in my work different representations of portraits, using application of color to “re-create” the human face.
