Four Square

 Value is, in my opinion, one of the most important Elements of art.  This assignment will act as a warm up for us as we embark on a quarter of drawing activities.  The most important element in this project is the value. We will be reconnecting with how to use a pencil and an easer to make marks.

 Today you will be looking at magazines and pulling out images that relate to a particular principle of art.  Do not include words or recognizable symbols.  You will need 9 different images.  You can repeat images if you like.  Think about your principle of art, what is going to convey that message to the viewer?

 When you have found the images you are going to use the next step is to photocopy the images.  You can choose to enlarge or reduce the images for visual effect. 

 Finally, you will cut the images out using a template.  Each image will be three by three inches.  Ms. McBride will take you through a demo of how to transfer these images onto the final paper.
